The difference between natural soap and general soap
In general, all kinds of soap are made from three basic mixtures : Sodium hydroxide (NaOH), fat (oil), and water. These three mixtures are processed through a chemical reaction called
" Saponification " which finally yields soap with glycerin.
To produce soap for commercial purposes, the factory must try to lower the cost of production to get competitive prices in the market. Therefore, in most factories glycerin is removed and sold separately because it is expensive and used in producing cosmetics that moisturize skin such as facial cream, lipstick, etc. .A cheaper moisturizing substance is added to soap instead, plus some synthetic chemicals and color.
In making natural soap, glycerin is not removed. The glycerin in natural soap has moisturizing properties that help make skin moist, soft and smooth naturally without being oily.
Natural soap can be made with additional features as needed without using synthetic chemicals. Various natural substances such as herbs, or plant and fruit extracts can be added in the process of making soap. This will result in various kinds of
natural soaps (herbal soaps) that have the properties of those herbs or plants.
